was officially turned today. Overnight Jonas was able to be raised to 60 degrees and when I walked in this morning I could tell he was headed back to normal.
The best news is that this afternoon he was able to get out of bed and took a few steps while holding on to our hands. He wasn't straightening his legs very well but I am sure that will come with time as well as when he walks with his walker. Here he is in what Devin calls his "party dress" headed down the hallway to the toy room.
He also got a sponge bath this afternoon which looked somewhat like a spa treatment. He was pretty happy to have his bath and get clean.
He ate well today which is something considering the options he is given. Combine food allergies with a hospital menu and it can be pretty bleak.
The only drawback was that his attitude came back in full swing. I don't know if he has just been saving it up from the past few days or what but wow...talk about baditude!!! Can't wait until we can get out of the hospital and establish a more normal routine. I'll bet our roommates will be equally relieved. :)
We had fun reading a story together before I left tonight. He should be discharged tomorrow!! So, "Hip Hooray" as Jonas would say! Thanks for the support and prayers.
So glad he is doing better!! I think I would have a "baditude" too!! That's a lot to go through. He is so cute!! Keep the updates coming. Love to see how he is doing.

ReplyDeleteWow, those pictures are like night and day from the ones before- he looks so good! Glad you can get out of the hospital and hopefully the baditude will fade... Hope it just gets better and better!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy to hear he is doing so much better! I was feeling so sad for him after we talked the other night. It sounds like he improved tremendously in a day. I hope it continues to be fast. Love you guys!
